How to see if someone is connected to your network share

If you’ve ever wondered if its possible to see who’s using your file share on your machine I’m here to tell you its possible!

Why do I need to know?

Well its not necessary to know but lets say you have a share in your workplace or someones steaming a movie at home to their computers. This would allow you to know what machine is viewing the files and if its safe for you to edit the files without interrupting someones connection.

How to view connected people

  1. Start
  2. Right Click “Computer”
  3. Select Manage
  4. Select “Shared Folders”
