I’ve noticed lately on my personal machine with a I need to upload a file, Google Chrome locks up for a few seconds. In the past this has always been instant. All my other browsers are fine. What the heck!
After reinstalling Chrome, repairing it, incognito, removing all extensions the problem persisted. This is when I realized it has to be Windows (I’m running Win10).
Finally one down stumbled upon the fix! This has been driving me nuts for so long. The causes, inaccessible network paths which then delay saving files or uploading them until it times out.
The Fix
- Open File Explorer
- Right click “Quick Access”
- Select “Options”
- In the “General Tab” Uncheck both “Show recently used files in Quick access” and “Show frequently used folders in Quick access”
- Click “Clear”
- Then “OK”
- That’s it!
That’s it! Back to your normal browsing!
